Encouraging Your Spirit
WHEN YOU FAST. When. Come into My rest. You are marvelous. I have created rhythms to foster a healthy life. It’s all around you. The sun to light the day while the moon eases movement at night. Your breath to draw in oxygen and exhale away carbon that’s completed it’s purpose in you but then gives life to the plants around you. I’ve created your body’s need for food to be in balance. A natural rhythm of eating and not eating. Anabolic and catabolic pathways flowing gently and naturally. Invite Me to put eating and not eating into its rhythm. Enter into my rhythm of fasting.
Bible Wisdom
When you practice some appetite-denying discipline to better concentrate on God, don’t make a production out of it. It might turn you into a small-time celebrity but it won’t make you a saint. If you ‘go into training’ inwardly, act normal outwardly. Shampoo and comb your hair, brush your teeth, wash your face. God doesn’t require attention-getting devices. He won’t overlook what you are doing; he’ll reward you well. Matthew 6:16
The Lord is my best friend and my shepherd. I always have more than enough. Psalms 23:1
Prayer
God, I know you see it. In my go, go, go life food gets out of balance. Give me a rhythm that feeds my body and foster repair. Make me anew. Grow me from seeing intermittent fasting as self denying into appreciating it’s purpose and rhythm. Thank you. You, God, think of everything. In Jesus Name, Amen
